Immediately upon arrival, the DBA Testing engineer will make himself known to your nominated representative to discuss the method of operation; identify any special requirements; agree access arrangements and the order of PAT testing is to be carried out. The engineer will discuss the results with your nominated representative during and on completion of the work as necessary.

PAT_Testing_Guidelines

Our testing meets all of the requirements of various Health & Safety regulations. All work is carried out in accordance with the Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment published by the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology). This code applies to both our Portable and Fixed Appliance Testing Services.

Whats_is_included_in_the_PAT_Test?

a) Visual Inspection: Prior to testing, a full, visual inspection of the appliance will be made to determine any damage to the plug, flex and case. This is also carried out to ensure that the plug is fitted correctly, has the right value fuse and that the on/off switches and controls operate correctly.

b) Electrical Testing: Each appliance will be comprehensively tested in accordance with the Code of Practice. The exact range of tests will be determined by the type of equipment which will include earth bond, insulation resistance, earth leakage and operational tests as appropriate.

c) Labelling: Each appliance which has passed will have a PASS label affixed in an accessible but unobtrusive location which will include an individual appliance number and indicate the recommended date for the next inspection. Any appliance that fails will be clearly labelled "FAILED" and removed from service appropriately to prevent any further danger.
